**Biography**

 

Alastair Gornall is chairperson of Penta, Strategy for Europe and Asia

He became non-executive chairman of Hume Brophy in April 2021 and chaired its main board. He uses 35+ years’ experience of running award-winning media companies to help guide the future direction, strategy, governance, and management of businesses to create world-class companies that employ talented and highly motivated staff; executes impactful and effective work for our clients; and provides financial rewards for shareholders.

Alastair started his career working for Business Week International in New York and then founded two award-winning PR and public affairs consultancies, including Consolidated Communications Group–the UK’s first agency to be launched with PE backing (3i) and PRWeek’s Agency of the Year in 2001. He was then CEO of Reed Exhibitions Ltd and, since 2010, has had a portfolio career as a chair/NED/advisor to a broad range of media companies, including Blue Rubicon (Teneo), Hanover Communications, Longitude Research, Dods Group Plc, Gartner Inc, Seahorse Environmental, and the London Communications Agency.
